You've got mail!

I sent some cookies to a friend overseas as I couldn't send some I'd made myself - this is because I think that it would not only take ages, but it also probably contravenes some international customs thing... anyhoo they sent me some pics of the cookies... (photo's courtesy of my friend in Canada!)...

Birthday Cupcakes

I made some vanilla cupcakes with vanilla buttercream icing and pink butterflies on the top, however, in the hectic craziness that was the time between Christmas and the 28th of December - when the party was, I forgot to take a photograph of them - they're a bit like the white ones in my practice cupcake stream of consciousness, but a bit fancier... will try harder next time to take a photo before they all get eaten!!

Christmas Cakes

As usual I made two large Christmas cakes - one to share between us and my
parents, and another to cut into four and ice up for gifts for other people.

Husband's Birthday Cake...

Despite much prompting I got NO helpful suggestions from my lovely husband for what he would like for a birthday cake this year, and I was short on inspiration, so instead of a cake he had an impromptu apple tart in the style of Raymond Blanc (see previous entry).  It was very tasty and unfortunately we ate it all before we thought to take a photo....

Advent Cupcakes

These cupcakes were made for the Nine Lessons and Carols service at church.  We were supposed to take mince pies, but I gave our vicar the choice between mince pies or cupcakes, and she chose cupcakes.  These were vanilla sponge cupcakes with vanilla cream icing, topped with a gold star.
